Today’s topic is book to movie adaptations. There aren’t many in the works that I’m overly excited about (or know about really) so I’m going to add in the books that have been optioned or in development. You must check out Novel Heartbeat’s post about upcoming releases and optioned films.

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week a different question is posed and gives us bloggers an opportunity to share our top tens on all different types of bookish topics.

In Development or Set to Release

The Fifth Wave By Rick Yancey
The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan

Optioned (AKA- Please Announce More News!)

Angelfall by Susan Ee
Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake
The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon
Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
The Raven Boys by Maggie Steifvater
Shadow & Bone by Leigh Bardugo
Throne of Glass (for TV I believe?) by Sarah J. Maas
The idea of ANY of these coming to film or television overwhelms me with excitement and worry. What if they don’t do it right? I would rather no adaptation than a poorly done one. But, the idea of a well made version of my favorite books makes me feel so excited. Seriously, I can’t even fathom the casting though–who could ever play The Darkling? Raffe?

What book would you want to see as a film?

And, do you like the idea of a full length film or TV series more?
